Step 1 - About Your Organisation

Q - How many people work in your organisation?

From the drop-down list, select the range of employees that matches the number of full-time equivalent staff at your business.

Q - What does your organisation do?

You can enter your company type in the search box (eg builder, nursery). Click 'Find' to identify the most appropriate selections. Tick the description that best matches who you are.

Alternatively, click on the right-facing arrows to open up further selections under the main categories in order to make your own choice. Continue to click on the right-facing arrows until check boxes appear on the left of the descriptions. Click in the most appropriate box. When a green tick appears, click 'Next'.

For projects involving a partnership of organisations, multiple boxes can be ticked at this stage.

Step 2 - About Your Project

Q - Where is your project located?

Enter your postcode here and click 'Find'. If you only know the first part of your postcode (eg S80) you can enter this and click 'Find'. A list of possibilities will be displayed. Select the relevant area by clicking the button on the left of the description, until a green dot appears.

If you don't know your postcode, click on the link underneath the box marked 'Don't know your postcode? Click here'. You can now enter the name of the location, (eg Rochester) and click 'Find'. A list of possibilities will be displayed. Select the relevant area by clicking the button on the left of the description, until a green dot appears.

Q - What project do you require help with?

You can enter an activity in the search box (eg building, community festival, training). Click 'Find' to identify the most appropriate selections. Tick the description that best matches the activity you are looking to fund. Click 'Next'.

Continue to click on the right-facing arrows until check boxes appear on the left of the descriptions. Click in the most appropriate box. When a green tick appears, click 'Next'.

Step 3 - Your requirements

Q - How much (approximately) do you need to spend on the project?

From the drop-down list, select the range of values that best matches the total anticipated expenditure of the entire project. Consider that a project likely to cost £100,000 may achieve smaller grants from a range of sources, to make up the grand total. Therefore, entering the overall cost, rather than a specific grant amount is recommended.

Q - What form of assistance are you looking for?

You may click on as many or as few options here as you like.

Once your search is complete, you may have the option to request more details about the funding schemes matching your criteria (depending on the preference of the local GRANTfinder administrator). Ticking the box on this page sends a message to the administrator who is able to follow up your enquiry and provide additional information and support. Clicking 'Display Results' takes you to the next page, where your results can be found.
